Meet Angela

Creator of Satori Kid Club

Welcome!

I’m Angela, a mother of two grown children and the heart behind Satori Kid Club. Over the years, I’ve discovered that the most meaningful gift we can give our children is a deep, lasting connection built on trust, love, and emotional growth. My own journey as a mother has been filled with lessons, challenges, and triumphs, and it’s my passion to share what I’ve learned to help other parents create these powerful bonds with their children.

I created The Parallel Journey™ to help parents grow alongside their children emotionally and spiritually while breaking harmful generational cycles. This approach is about more than just parenting tips—it’s about fostering mutual healing, connection, and resilience for both parent and child. At its core, the essence of raising a Satori Kid is nurturing a child who is enlightened—one who has broken free from generational cycles and can thrive emotionally and spiritually.

As the author and illustrator of Myla Gets to the Root and Myla and the Presence of Christmas, I’ve designed tools that gently introduce children to emotional intelligence and the chakra system in an accessible way. My background includes over 18 years in graphic arts, which I’ve combined with my passion for storytelling to create practical resources for parents looking to build mindful, emotionally connected relationships.

While I hold certifications in childcare, childhood trauma, Reiki, and inner child/shadow work using the chakra system, I want to be clear that I am not a licensed professional. Instead, I share from my lived experience as a mother and the personal growth I’ve cultivated over the past 25 years. My training complements my experience, giving me a unique perspective that blends emotional and spiritual healing with practical parenting insights.

My mission is to provide parents with tools, knowledge, and inspiration to break generational cycles, build authentic relationships, and create homes filled with trust, resilience, and love.

Thank you for being here and trusting me to walk alongside you on this journey. Let’s grow together.

With Love and Light,
Angela

What does the word "Satori" mean?

A large family is sitting on the floor laughing and hugging each other.

Satori is a Japanese term meaning “seeing into one’s true nature,” representing a moment of sudden enlightenment or awakening, often associated with Zen Buddhism.

In the context of Satori Kid Club, Satori reflects the moment of emotional clarity, where both parent and child discover their true selves. Through the Parallel Journey™, families are guided toward deeper emotional connection and understanding, helping both parent and child grow together. At its core, Satori Kid Club is about fostering this shared journey of self-discovery, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence, creating lifelong bonds built on authenticity and love.

About the Parallel Journey™

A large family is sitting on the floor laughing and hugging each other.

The Parallel Journey™ is the heart of Satori Kid Club, where both parent and child embark on a shared path of emotional growth and self-discovery. It’s a framework designed to help families build strong, lifelong bonds by focusing on emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and deep connection.

Through the Parallel Journey™, parents and children grow together. Each step is an opportunity for both to see into their true nature—to understand their emotions, communicate openly, and nurture empathy. The journey is not about perfection; it’s about learning, reflecting, and practicing new ways to connect, co-regulate, and thrive as a family.

Four Pillars of the Parallel Journey™:

  1. Awareness & Empathy – Recognizing and understanding emotions, both in yourself and others.
  2. Engagement in Co-Regulation – Helping your child manage emotions by modeling and guiding emotional regulation.
  3. Reflection & Reframing – Taking time to reflect on emotional experiences and reframing them as opportunities for growth.
  4. Growth & Practice – Practicing mindful techniques that reinforce emotional intelligence and build resilience over time.

At its core, the Parallel Journey™ is about creating a safe, compassionate space where both parent and child can grow emotionally—together. With tools, stories, and techniques, the journey fosters authentic connections, empowering families to navigate challenges with mindfulness, understanding, and love.

What is a Satori Kid?

A Satori Kid is a child who embraces emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and self-awareness from an early age. Guided by the tools and teachings of Satori Kid Club, they learn to navigate their emotions with confidence, empathy, and resilience.

A Satori Kid is encouraged to see into their true nature, understanding their emotions and inner world while forming strong, healthy connections with others. Through engaging stories, techniques, and practices, Satori Kids develop the skills to regulate their feelings, communicate openly, and approach challenges with a calm, mindful perspective.

At the heart of being a Satori Kid is the Parallel Journey™—a path where both parent and child grow emotionally together. By nurturing emotional intelligence as a family, Satori Kids learn the power of empathy, self-awareness, and reflection, setting them on a path of lifelong emotional well-being.
